The annual Fun Dog Show hosted by the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria and the Ballyshaners was full of Irish Spirit and smiles for people and pups on Saturday, March 7. Contestants and audience members gathered on Old Town’s Market Square to see who had the winning looks to walk off the stage as top dogs of the day. Dogs in sweaters, tutus, costumes, cloaks, wagons, strollers and more vied for the top titles of their categories, and the winners were:

Most St. Paddy’s Spirit

Pickles dressed as a pot of gold

Best Human/Canine Combo Costume

Kayla and pup Cholata dressed as students from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

Most Creative Costume

Zoey the bagpipes pup

 

The Fun Dog Show concluded just before the start of the Ballyshaner’s Old Town St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which was led by a procession of people and pups from the stage and from the crowd.
