How to Donate Food and Supplies

IN-PERSON: There is a donation cart located outside our front entrance Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. – weather permitting. There are receipts located on our donation cart that you can fill out to claim donations when you file your taxes.

ONLINE: Visit our Amazon wishlist or Chewy wishlist to find items that are always needed at the AWLA.  Items will be sent directly to us, unless you prefer to have them sent to you and drop them off.

SHOP LOCAL: Support locally-owned businesses and the AWLA’s Pet Food Pantry.  At each of the stores listed below you will find items specially stickered as “AWLA Community Pet Pantry Wishlist Item.” When you purchase those items, they will benefit pet parents in our community.

  • Pampered Pet Boutique & Barkery, 1612 Belle View Blvd.
  • The Dog Store, 2301 Mt. Vernon Ave.

Questions? Contact us at info@alexandriaanimals.org or by calling 703.746.4774.

How Donations are Used

Donations that can be used for our in-shelter animals are kept, while donations of things we are not able to use – like certain pet supplies (i.e. pet stairs, kennels, etc.) and brands of food – are distributed to pet families in need throughout our community.

You can rest assured your donations are going into the paws of animals that need it most!
