It’s that time of the year: Leaves are changing colors, we’re finally rid of the summer heat, and there’s lots of great scary movies on TV. Oh yeah, and it’s time for Howl-O-Ween!
Howl-O-Ween is this Thursday, Oct. 29, at Hotel Monaco/Jackson 20, located at 480 King St. in Old Town Alexandria. There will be drinks, light food from Jackson 20, and best of all, a pet costume contest. Entering your pet is $15 (which benefits the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria) and the prizes this year are so good it’s scary:
- Spookiest Costume: One night weekend stay at Hotel Monaco DC with a gift certificate for Poste Moderne Brasserie!
- Best Couple/Group: One night weekend stay at Hotel Monaco Alexandria with a gift certificate for Jackson 20!
- Most Creative Critter: One night weekend stay at Hotel Monaco Baltimore with a gift certificate for B&O American Brasserie!
- After the winners from the three categories are announced, they will compete for the coveted title of American Idol (Crowd Favorite)! The American Idol will receive a gift basket of goodies!
The costume contest we be hosted by our friend John Gonzalez, of ABC 7. You can register your pet for the costume contest beforehand, or register at the door.
We’ll also be unveiling our 2016 Alexandria Animals of the Year calendar at Howl-O-Ween. The calendar looks amazing, and we can’t wait for you to see it. If your pet is in the calendar, you can stop by The Bombay Room at Hotel Monaco to pick it up, and we’ll have them for sale at the event.
