Kingston was adopted!

Great news for those who have been following Kingston! On Friday, Oct. 23, Kingston finally got his happy ending after many months of waiting: He was adopted.

Kingston leaves the AWLA with his adopter.

If you’re not familiar with Kingston’s story, he came to the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria as part of an animal cruelty case, along with his mate Queen, and his puppies Everest, Himalaya, and Olympus. Everest was very ill and injured and the whole family needed time to rest and recover before being adopted. Queen and all of Kingston’s puppies eventually found great homes, but Kingston was with us for quite awhile. He’s a very intelligent dog with a bright and active mind, so our staff worked with Fur-Get Me Not‘s trainers. We started Kingston on nose work, which helps build confidence and focus. Fur-Get Me Not’s trainers were so enamored of Kingston that they even offered to donate training sessions to Kingston’s adopters.

We’re so happy for Kingston finally found a new home, and we wish him and his new family all the best.
