Everyone Loves a Puppy Tail

You’re not alone! We love to hear back from each and every one of our adopters, whether they have questions, concerns or just want to let us know how well their newest family member is doing. Here are just a few of the “Puppy Tails” our adopters have shared with us recently.

Zola

Everyone Loves a Puppy Tail: ZolaYou may remember Zola from our blog earlier this year. Her new family is calling her Stella and reports that she is all settled in. While she wasn’t initially used to stairs, she now has gotten the hang of going up and down and enjoys spending quality time with her canine brother and feline sister. She’s also a “walk star” and is so friendly to everyone she meets. Here she is showing off her sense of style and her favorite piece of furniture!

Luke

Everyone Loves a Puppy Tail: LukeLuke is happy to share a bond with his new best bud. Luke’s new family reports that their son Julien was fearful of dogs, but working closely with the AWLA staff, they took their time and found a pup that Julien felt comfortable with. Now the duo is inseparable; they love to snuggle, and it’s hard to say who loves whom more.

Nara

Everyone Loves a Puppy Tail: NaraNow known as Zoe, when Nara came to us, she was underweight, and we did everything we could to help this young Chihuahua mix put on the weight she’d need to get healthy. After getting her treatment for some tummy bugs that were holding her back, Zoe was ready to roll, and she met her new family this past winter. They report that she is now at a healthy weight, though she loves being an inside dog and might be happy staying inside all winter long. While somewhat timid, she is currently working on meeting new people and animals. Here she is showing off her goofy side with a goofy face!

Hudson

Hudson may have been adopted back in 2016, but that doesn’t make his tail any less happy! Surrendered to the shelter because his owner had to move and couldn’t take him, Hudson was still young when he met his new family. He may not be a baby any longer, but he will always be their “puppy.” Check him chilling out with their other “puppy,” six year old canine brother DJ.
