Rescheduled Fun Dog Show Bigger Than Ever!
For the first time in more than a decade, the March 3 Ballyshaners‘ St. Patrick’s Day Parade had to be rescheduled, and along with it, the AWLA’s annual Fun Dog Show. However, the rescheduled parade and Dog Show took place this past Sunday, March 18, and we couldn’t have asked for a nicer day!
Attendees came out in force, flooding Old Town’s Market Square and filling each of our four Fun Dog Show categories with talented and festive canine contestants. The event was emceed by Peggy Fox of WUSA-9 News, who made sure that each dog was given the chance to strut their stuff and that each winner was carefully determined by audience applause. The four contest winners each received a “Pet Troy” award ribbon in honor of Pat Troy, co-Grand Marshall of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, as well as a gift bag of goodies for pets and people alike, courtesy of our event sponsors.

All attendees were also invited to join the AWLA to kick off the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, and we were excited to present our sizable human and canine contigent.
