Study Finds: Dogs Really Are Man’s Best Friend

ALEXANDRIA, VA – A ground-digging study conducted by top canine chemists and four-legged physicists finds that dogs truly are man’s best friend. In a recent study that pitted pits, hounds, shepherds, Chihuahuas and more against their feline brethren, the canines came out on top. And this editor couldn’t agree more.

When you could have a dog who loves walks, rolling in the grass and cuddling on the couch with a human companion, why would you want anything else? Cats are disputing these claims, saying studies conducted without the use of tuna do not meet scientific standards. For more information on the opinions of Cat Nation, read Maganda’s Mews.

Opinion: Cats Rule, Dogs Drool

Felines of the world suffered a blow today when a spurious study claimed dogs were superior companions, but I ask you: Where would the world be without cats? If humans had no one living in their home to knock their vases over for them, where would they be? Without a cat, who in the house would stare at the wall as long as necessary before running around the room and scaling the bookshelf? And who would eat the houseplants? The notion that a dog could fill the voids in these humans’ lives is absurd. Sure, a dog may be more outwardly affectionate to anyone who gives them attention, but shouldn’t the value of the reward be commensurate with the work put forth to earn it? This reporter understands that different people might have different wants in best friend, but I for one will always be a cat person cat.

Make Fall Fashion Your Friend

My readers know that with my fine complexion, I live for the cooler seasons. Bring on long walks through crisp fall leaves and colorful bandanas to match! Remember that a full bandana or scarf can be less flattering for some who might want to opt for a festive (and dare I say, dapper) collar instead.

Once I find my new best friend, I plan to coordinate all of our fall attire because matching with your pup never goes out of style! Since I would like to be the only pet in my home, coordinating will be a breeze, and I’m always happy to lend a paw in the fashion department. So let’s all enjoy our neckwear for a few months before sweater weather is upon us!

Weekly Weather
with Tina and Rebecca

Weather this week should still be warm, with scattered showers and hints of fall! Buns across the area will soon enjoy changing fall colors and later sunrises, which we all know makes it a little harder to get out of bed! We try to keep our routine going whatever the season, starting our day off with some good hay, so we’re ready for plenty of playing and cuddling after that!
