Valentine’s Day has already come and gone, but there’s still time to find some-bunny to love!
We’ve got an amazing crew of rabbits here at the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria who are all in need of loving homes. Some of our rabbits have been waiting for new homes since September 2015! To help these bunnies find new families, we’re waiving adoption fees on all rabbits through the end of February. If you’ve always wanted to adopt a house rabbit, now is the time!
All of our adoptable rabbits are spayed or neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. If you’ve never owned a rabbit before and need some help learning how to care for a house rabbit, our staff is here to guide you! We’ll give you all the information you need about bunny diets, litter training (yes, bunnies can be litter-trained!), bunny-proofing your home, and how to keep their minds active and healthy.
Meet our adoptable rabbits:
- Espresso Bean is a four year old female Rex who was rescued from a cruelty case in New York by the ASPCA. We offered to help find Espresso Bean a home, and this social bunny is eager to start her new life!
- Ginger is a nine-month-old female rabbit with a gorgeous sable coat. She has been waiting to be adopted since September, and while she likes it here just fine, she’s ready for some new digs to hop around in!
- Nivens is an adult female rabbit who came to us as a stray in August 2015. She’s a friendly, outgoing rabbit who loves lounging in piles of Timothy hay. Come meet Nivens today!
- Like his Peanuts namesake, Schroeder is a sensitive, contemplative fellow. This adult male rabbit was brought to an animal shelter in Maryland, and we took him in to help him find a nice, quiet home full of love.
- Terri is a two year old cottontail rabbit we took in from an animal shelter in Maryland. She’s a friendly, quiet rabbit who loves munching on hay and veggies. Do you have room in your home and heart for Terri?
- Theodore and Samantha are bonded bunnies who have been waiting to find a home since September 2015! Adopting bonded bunnies can make the transition to a new home easier, and your new bunnies will already have a built-in BFF and source of emotional support.
- Peppermint Patty came from the same case at Espresso Bean. This female Rex had spent most of her life outdoors, but is adjusting well to indoor life, and looking forward to finding a home she can call her own!
