Paws in the Park Announces Entertainment Schedule and Dining Options

Oct. 16 pet-focused event will offer food and music for attendees of all ages

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (August 17, 2022) — Paws in the Park (formerly Alexandria Love Your Pet Day) returns to Oronoco Bay Park on Sunday, Oct. 16, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with an exciting new line-up of entertainment and food and drink options for all ages.

The mainstage line-up, sponsored by the Alexandria Library Foundation, will offer music and entertainment for a wide variety of audiences. After opening remarks at 11 a.m., bilingual music sensation Uno Dos Très Andrés kicks off the day’s music at 11:30 a.m., followed by children’s musician Groovy Nate at 12:45 p.m. Later in the afternoon, Justin Paschalides performs classic and modern pop and rock music starting at 2 p.m., and the event rounds out with jazz trio Bill Cabrera and Company at 3:15 p.m.

Along with dozens of local artisans and animal-focused businesses, Paws in the Park will also offer a wide-ranging food court with a beer garden, providing a wide variety of food and beverages, including alcoholic beverages. Bring your picnic blanket, and savor beer from Port City Brewing Company, cider from Lost Boy Cider and wine from Woodlawn Press Winery, as well as food offerings from Ana’s Twist, The Big Cheese, A.M. Kettle and Scuttlebutt Bakeshop, and coffee from Sip Coffee Inc.

TTR Sotheby’s International Realty will sponsor the Paws in the Park Family Fun Tent, which will host a variety of animal-focused crafts, both to take home and to help animals in need at the AWLA.

Paws in the Park is open to well-behaved, leashed pets, and will offer fun opportunities for furry friends, including the Frolick Dogs’ Playland with agility equipment and ball pit. Adoptable animals will also be onsite on Rescue Row (sponsored by Amazon) from the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria, A Forever Home Rescue Foundation, America’s k-9 Caring Angels, Australian Shepherds Furever, Canine Companions, Miri’s Haven Senior Dog Rescue, Lu’s Labs, Margaret’s Saving Grace Bully Rescue, Mount Vernon Animal Rescue, Oldies But Goodies Cocker Rescue, Project Second Chance, Small Angels Rescue, Squishy Face Crew Virginia and Tails High Inc.
