Mars: Explorer, Art Lover, Adoptable Pup

Mars is a pup on the go! During his stay at the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria, Mars has made many friends who love taking him out on field trips. Field trips with our volunteers are one of the ways dogs can take a break from their daily routine at the shelter. It gives them a chance to explore new places with their nose and meet new people, maybe even their new best friend!

Mars is always ready to roll!

Mars’ most recent adventures have included going to the ALX Dog Walk where he walked for two miles, met many adoring fans and learned that it’s best to keep his delicate puppy ears far away from big speakers. Being the art lover that he is, Mars also made sure his friends took him to see Alexandria’s latest art installation, I Love You and snap some selfies.

While staff and volunteers here at the AWLA try to make an animal’s stay as comfortable and positive as possible, and adventures like these give Mars the chance to try something new on his way to meeting his future family. Mars would like to now venture into a new home of his own or even go on a getaway to a foster home (even if it’s for just a few days).

To learn more about Mars and how to adopt, contact Adopt@AlexandriaAnimals.org or visit AlexandriaAnimals.org/Fostering for more information about fostering.

Mars thanks his friends for taking him on so many adventures with puppy hugs.
