Host a Social Media Fundraiser

Fundraising tools on Facebook and Instagram are great ways to rally friends and family around your cause, in celebration for your birthday, for Giving Tuesday or any day of the year. Watch below for tutorials on setting up fundraisers in support of Alexandria’s Animals.

Create a Facebook Fundraiser for the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria on your computer:

1. In a web browser, go to www.facebook.com
2. After logging into your account, click the “Fundraisers” icon on the left side of the page, or search and click “Fundraisers” in the top search bar
3. Click the “Select Nonprofit” button
4. Search “Animal Welfare League of Alexandria” and select our profile
5. Follow prompts and fill out your fundraiser information. Select an image and add a personalized note, or use our current page header and the text Facebook provides
6. Click “Create” when finished
7. Share your fundraiser with friends and family to encourage them to support your cause!

Create a Facebook Fundraiser for the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria on your mobile device:

1. Go to the Facebook app on your device
2. Tap the menu icon in the lower right corner
3. Tap the “Fundraisers” icon on the left side of the page, or search and tap “Fundraisers” in the top search bar
4. Tap the “Create Fundraiser” button
5. Search “Animal Welfare League of Alexandria” and select our profile
6. Follow prompts and fill out your fundraiser information. Select an image and add a personalized note, or use our current page header and the text Facebook provides
7. Tap “Create” when finished
8. Share your fundraiser with friends and family to encourage them to support your cause!

Share your Facebook Fundraiser in your Facebook Story

1. Go to the Facebook app on your device
2. Tap your profile picture in the top left corner
3. Add a photo and/or text to your story
4. Swipe up and search “donation” and tap the “donation” sticker
5. Search “Animal Welfare League of Alexandria” and select your fundraiser
6. Place your sticker and share your story

Create an Instagram Story Fundraiser for the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria:

1. Go to the Instagram app on your device
2. Tap the camera icon in the top left corner
3. Add a photo and/or text to your story
4. Swipe up and search “donation” and tap the “donation” sticker
5. Search “AlexAnimals” and select our profile
6. Place your sticker and share your story
