Why Invest in the AWLA?
Since 1946, the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria (AWLA) has served as an invaluable community asset and a safe haven for animals. Through adoption programs, spaying and neutering assistance, educational initiatives, and community outreach and programs, the AWLA has consistently championed responsible pet ownership across Northern Virginia.
Our organization thrives on the unwavering support of donors like you. In fact, we count on donations from individuals like you to fund 65% of our budget!
Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs) allow you to make a charitable donation, receive an immediate tax deduction and then recommend grants from the fund over time.
If you have money in your DAF waiting to be invested in life-saving work, the AWLA could put those funds to use now!
Donate today and your DAF funds will not only be used to provide shelter and care for more than 1,500 animals each year, you can recommend grants to the AWLA using the following designations:
- for the AWLA to use whenever the need is greatest
- for the AWLA to use for emergency veterinary needs
- for the AWLA to use toward our Community Programs, such as AniMeals, our Community Pet Pantry, and our vaccine clinics
