We rarely have to make posts like this, but due to an increase in found animals, owner surrenders, and lower-than-normal adoption numbers over the past few weeks, we are at critical capacity for dogs. We desperately need dog adoptions this weekend to make room in our dog dorms.

Starting today (May 23), all dogs 40 pounds and larger, plus any smaller dog with an “Adopt-It-Forward,” will have waived adoption fees through Sunday, May 26.

There are many intrinsic benefits of adoption, but thanks to some local businesses, your new best fur friend comes with some additional perks! Anyone who adopts a dog this weekend will receive:

• Free small coffee or tea from St. Elmo’s
• Free ice cream from The Dairy Godmother’s

• All you have to do is show your adoption paperwork from this weekend to receive your free goodies!
