In 2022, the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria cared for, fostered and found homes for more animals than previous years, both at the Vola Lawson Animal Shelter and throughout our community.

- More than 28,500 meals were provided to animals at the Vola Lawson Animal Shelter
- We provided more than 52,000 pounds of pet supplies to pet owners and rescues across the region through various programs
- 745 people volunteered enough time to be equivalent to more than 16 full-time staff
- More than 32,000 meals were provided to pets of senior citizens through our AniMeals program
- 360 pets received assistance through our Behavior Support team
- In FY21, 65% of our income came from support from our community and 83% of our budget went towards programs that directly support the animals and people of our community!
