Great Puppy Games 2018: Pupdate #2

Great Puppy Games 2018 Pupdate 2

Puppy Games Pupdate #2 Countdown to the Competition

Hosted by the AWLA and Vola Lawson Animal Guardians WOOFS! Dog Training Center, LLC, the Puppy Games follows 11 brothers and sisters as they hone their skills in feats of basic training, socialization and manners, all taught by the amazing training staff of WOOFS!  Let’s see how our canine competitors are doing, and read more below about how you can join us for the Puppy Games at WOOFS! and meet all of our champions at a “Winners’ Circle” post-game event.

WOOFS! owner and Training Director Laura Sharkey is proud to be such a strong supporter for the AWLA and its adoptable animals.  “We recognize the special needs of a mom with puppies and are happy to foster them. We hope our efforts help to give the puppies a great start in life so that they grow up to be awesome family members and good canine citizens.”

Asiago

Asiago, with the help of trainer Jane, is already working on his leashed walking!

Feta

Feta and her trainers Jada and Ali have been working on perhaps less essential but no less cute skills.  Watch out for Feta in the freestyle portion of the games!

Gouda

If the Great Puppy Games included a silly smile contest, Gouda might come out on top.  Hopefully he’s working as hard with his trainers Marti and Kelly as he is on his goofy faces.

Havarti

Havarti and trainer Jane took to the agility course, one of many test runs before the big day!

Provolone

Provolone and trainer Jan explored nose work.  Provolone seems to be a quick learner!

Ricotta

Ricotta got a break from her Puppy Games training with trainer Melissa but still learned a lot on a field trip;  for example, cats might not be as interested in playing with bones as her brothers and sisters are.

Puppy Games 2018 Tickets Now Available

Tickets for the Puppy Games are now available!  Join us June 22 at WOOFS! Dog Training Center’s Shirlington campus.  The games begin at 7:00 p.m., and a “Winners’ Circle” meet-and-greet with all the puppies will take place at 8:30 p.m.  Your ticket covers both events, though you can choose to attend one or both.  Refreshments will also be served at the “Winners’ Circle” event, and attendees will have the chance to put a hold on any member of our puppy pack; the adoptions process will be completed when our competitors grow big enough, later this summer.  A limited number of tickets are available, so register today.
