Join the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria for this FREE author discussion of War Animals with author Robin Hutton!
War Animals: The Unsung Heroes of WWII tells the stories of the dogs, horses, mules, pigeons—and even one cat—who did their bit for the war effort. American and British families volunteered beloved family pets and farm dogs to aid in the war effort, and many of these gallant animals are recipients of the prestigious Dickin Medal, the “Animals’ Victoria Cross.” Their loyalty and courage is a testimony to the enduring bond between us and the animals we love.
Author Robin Hutton will be joining the AWLA’s virtual Paws to Read Book Club on May 26 at 7 p.m. to discuss her book and answer pre-submitted questions from attendees. All are welcome, whether you are a monthly Paws to Read club member or just interested in learning more from Hutton.
