EVENT FULL: AWLA Teen Service Day

January 17, 2022 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

  • « Junior PAWS: Animal Talk – Snowflake Snack Time!
  • January Paws to Read Book Club: How Stella Learned to Talk »
Join the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria for a day of service!

The AWLA Youth Program is hosting a Teen Service Day on Martin Luther King Jr. Day! This service day will give high school students the opportunity to give back and help Alexandria’s Animals, both at our shelter facility and throughout the community.

Teens who register will:

  • Learn about the AWLA and participate in a behind-the-scenes shelter tour
  • Create enrichment items to distribute to our dogs, cats and small animals
  • Learn how we use clicker and target training with shelter animals
  • Earn community service hours
  • Make a huge difference in the lives of animals!

Registration

All participants must be high school students between the ages of 14 and 17 years old. The registration fee for this Teen Service Day is $50. This fee helps us offset the costs of the educational materials and project supplies. It also allows us to direct more money toward the care of animals in need.

Register Now

Registration fees are non-refundable.

Following guidelines from the City of Alexandria, all teens must provide proof of their COVID vaccination OR a negative COVID test from within 48 hours of the event in order to participate. Face masks are required.
