Alexandria Love Your Pet Day

In 2017, a group of  West End pet businesses got together to come up with a way to help the Alexandria community celebrate its love for pets.  They worked with the Mayor and City Council to declare an annual Alexandria Love Your Pets Day and then hosted a block party to commemorate this announcement.  The inaugural event engaged 30+ local businesses and a dozen non-profits, attracted over 300 attendees , and featured a variety of food trucks and children’s entertainment.  We at the AWLA are excited to work with our event partners to make this year’s event even bigger and better than the last!

This is a free event open to the community; well-behaved leashed pets are welcomed to attend.

Attendee parking is available in the Bishop Ireton HS lower parking lot located across Duke St. from the event.
