We are proud to announce all of our 2017 Vola Lawson Animal Champions and Guardians!

The Animal Welfare League of Alexandria would not be a success without the support of so many members of our community, from donations to in-kind support of goods and services to time volunteered to take care of our animals and facility.

We recognize those who give their support at the highest levels as our Vola Lawson Animal Advocates.  Named for former Alexandria City Manager and passionate animal advocate Vola Lawson, we define our Animal Champions as those who contributed $10,000 or more in financial or in-kind support, or 1,000 volunteer hours in the previous calendar year.  Animal Guardians have raised the bar even higher, contributing $25,000 in monetary or in-kind support, or 5,000 volunteer hours in 2017.  These supporters will be recognized in communications, at the shelter and at AWLA events throughout 2018.
