Alexandria’s city-wide day of giving – Spring2ACTion – is Wednesday, April 24. Please support your city’s animal shelter and premier nonprofit that cares for thousands of Alexandria’s animals every year!

In 2023, the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria impacted thousands of pets and pet parents through a wide variety of community programs. Beyond sheltering homeless pets and finding them loving homes, the AWLA has many programs that support our community, keeping pets right where they belong — with the people who love them! 

From life-saving surgeries, to pet supplies and nutritious food, to behavioral training sessions and so much more, the AWLA has worked hard to provide wraparound pet retention services to support Alexandria’s pets and people. We anticipate the need for these resources will be just as great in 2024!
