On Sunday, Oct. 3, our city hosted its fourth Alexandria Love Your Pet Day Festival, held in the new Old Town location of Oronoco Bay Park. Bigger and better than ever, this year’s Festival brought together animal lovers, local artisans, performers and so many members of our community to celebrate Alexandria’s love of animals of all kind. The day opened with a call from Alexandria’s Town Crier:
Proceeds from the event benefited the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria (AWLA), and Mayor Justin Wilson and members of the City Council welcomed attendees and posed for a photo with the AWLA’s Alex Meow and his colleagues:
Adorable adoptables were on parade from the AWLA as well as area rescues:
The AWLA’s Alex Meow joined amazing entertainers like Uno Dos Tres Andrés to connect with attendees:
And the Alexandria Love Your Pet Day Family Fun Tent (sponsored by the Jen Walker Team) was packed full of attendees who were taking part in activities to improve the lives of pets in their homes and across the community:
It was a day of fun for the whole family – including pets – and we can’t wait to see you all again next year to celebrate Alexandria Love Your Pet Day. Thanks to all of our sponsors, our vendors, and of course, our attendees, for making this event possible, and for supporting animals across the community via the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria.
