DMV’s Biggest Dog Walk Event returns on April 10, 2027! Mark your calendar for the ALX Dog Walk — the largest Earth Month celebration of pets and the planet in the DMV area!

New Partnership (and Location) in 2027! In 2027, the ALX Dog Walk will be held in collaboration with the City of Alexandria's Eco-City Fest at Ben Brenman Park.

2K Dog Walk + Eco-City Fest! The Walk event attracts over 2,000 dogs and dog enthusiasts for one joyful morning that features a beautiful 2k stroll through the West End, followed by Alexandria's Eco-City Festival for music, food, vendors and more fun!

One Event, Two Great Parnters

In 2027, the AWLA will take the lead on the ALX Dog Walk, bringing pets and their people together for a fun, community-focused walk through Alexandria's West End. Following the walk, the celebration will continue with the City of Alexandria’s Eco-City Fest at Ben Brenman Park, which will host the festival portion of the day, including vendors, entertainment, educational activities, and more.

Together, AWLA and Eco-City Fest are keeping the spirit of the ALX Dog Walk alive while creating something even bigger: a celebration of pets and the planet. It’s the perfect pairing of wagging tails and green goals!

The Dog Show Competition! The 2026 Dog Show Competition theme was “Canine Wedding Fashion” – a fun nod to the event’s co-emcee, Monte Durham and his stunning new bridal gown collections.

A New Chapter for the ALX Dog walk

In 2026, the AWLA was proud to partner with the ALX Dog Walk, bringing Alexandria’s animal-loving community together for a day of celebration.

In 2027, the ALX Dog Walk will officially become an AWLA event, continued in partnership with the City of Alexandria’s Eco-City Fest.

Together, we’re creating a bigger celebration of pets and the planet, bringing animal lovers, pet-friendly activities, environmental education, local organizations, and more together for a fun-filled day. While the event might change a bit, its heart remains the same: celebrating the incredible bond between people and pets while building a healthier, more sustainable community for everyone.
