Lacy making many new friends
01/04/2009
Hi All,
In November, my husband and I came to the shelter to look for a dog.
After meeting Lacy (now named Kypros) - the 1 year old Boxer/ Shar Pei mix - we fell in love with her and began the process of adoption. In the week and a half before we were able to take her home, we came to the shelter to visit and take her for little walks to get
acquainted. We noticed that she really loved the staff and volunteers and she soon became as excited to see us.
She is a WONDERFUL addition to our new family and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect companion! From the minute we took her home, she settled right in and made herself at home (after a lot of sniffing around). She is a great little ball of energy and love and has been such a good girl. I would highly encourage anyone looking to adopt a new pet to consider an older animal. Although we wish we could have met Kypros when she was just a puppy, we definitely found a perfect pet in her. She is eager to please and we're amazed at how smart she is. She sits for her dinner and only jumps on the furniture when we invite her (which is a lot of the time). People who meet her love her instantly and always comment on how pretty she is. We totally agree. She loves people and other dogs and always needs to say 'hello' to everyone she sees. The sweetest thing is waking up in the morning to her wagging tail and we're so happy to have her. When family members met her they all commented what a great dog she is (my mother asked "Why would anyone have given her up??") and she really is great!
Thank you to all the adoption staff - you were all very helpful and thank you for taking such good care of her before we adopted her :)
I've attached a few photographs of her as well.
