Barksgiving Reunites Dogs from AWLA on Nov. 7, 2015

On Saturday, November 7, 2015, the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria is hosting Barksgiving, an open house and reunion for dogs adopted from the AWLA. Any dogs adopted from the AWLA are invited to attend.

Barksgiving will be held at the Vola Lawson Animal Shelter, at 4101 Eisenhower Ave. in Alexandria. AWLA alumni and their adopters are invited to drop in anytime between 11am – 2pm for hot chocolate, cider, and other assorted fall goodies. We’ll be opening up the dog play yard for attendees to mingle, and we’ll have organized games with prizes. Children are welcome and we’ll have a craft table where our Youth Coordinator will help put their creative minds to work!

In an effort to help litter mates connect with one another, AWLA has put together a list of animals (by their AWLA names).  Adopters planning to come to the reunion who adopted from a litter and would like to reunite their dogs with their family members just need to add their names next to their dogs’ names so the adopters of litter mates can coordinate to come to the reunion at the same time! Call (703) 746-4774 or email staff@alexandriaanimals.org with any questions about Barksgiving. We can’t wait to see our alumni and hear about how great things are in their new homes!
